Genting UK Says Goodbye to Sports Betting to Focus on the Online Gambling Sector

Genting UK revealed that it is no longer interested in sports betting and intends to shift its focus only on the online gambling market.

Recently, the SkillOnNet network has revealed that it inked an agreement with the gambling company to operate its Genting Casino brand. The price of the deal has not been disclosed so far.

The UK division of the international gambling giant Genting Group – Genting UK – has officially revealed that it is saying goodbye to the sports betting sector. After its withdrawal from the industry, the operator is planning to become more focused on the expansion of its online casino offerings through a new deal with SkillOnNet – a platform provider. Under the terms of the agreement, Genting Casino will become part of SkillOnNet’s network, with the casino brand and domain of Genting set to be operated by the casino software supplier.

As the gambling operator shared in its statement, the Genting Casino brand will be marketed on SkillOnNet by Amazon Prime Gaming, which is currently offering brands such as ICE3, MegaCasino and Slingo. The main goal of Genting is to expand the reach of its online gambling products in Europe, and more specifically, in the gambling markets of the UK, Malta, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

SkillOnNet to Take Over the Operation of Genting Casino Services

The head of corporate development at SkillOnNet – Maor Nutkevitch – shared that the official launch of the Genting Casino brand on the platform provider’s network is in line with the company’s strategy of taking popular brands and products with potential for further growth and use their experience to turn them into market-leading online casinos.

Furthermore, Mr Nutkevitch explained that SkillOnNet has already worked in collaboration with Amazon Prime Gaming on similar projects, such as the official roll-out of Slingo.com. In February last year, the platform provider revealed that it had agreed on licensing and operating Slingo.com in order to expand the brand’s global footprint through access to new markets. Furthermore, at the time, the operator also revealed that it would provide Slingo’s customers with access to more than 3,000 games.

According to the head of SkillOnNet’s corporate development, the latest deal of the operator could provide it with the chance to repeat the aforementioned success with the Genting Casino brand by improving the customer experience.

On the other hand, Jack Davies from Amazon Prime Gaming described SkillOnNet as the operator that currently offers the best platform for an online casino service. He further noted that the partnership with Genting Casino could result in unlocking the full potential of the new Genting brand.

According to information published on the official website of Genting UK, the company’s operations include a total of 32 casino licences in the country, plus Resorts World Birmingham, and the gentingbet.com and gentingcasino.com platforms.
